Why This Matters
Most high-growth Indian companies — consumer internet, fintech, D2C brands, SaaS — are not yet profitable at the reported level. This does not mean their economics are unknowable. Unit economics tells you whether the underlying business model is fundamentally sound before scale makes profitability obvious. It is the discipline that separates investors who understand growth companies from those who are simply speculating on narrative.
